The Neighbor In Need mission is: to help low income elderly living in the communities of East Lake, Kirkwood and Edgewood make emergency home repairs to help increase the value of their homes and, more importantly, help them keep their homes.
Neighbor in Need is 100% volunteer run. The money you give goes directly into action for our long the elderly neighbors as a result. We have very low overhead and provide quality, licensed and insured work at no charge to those we help.
The Neighbor In Need program works with corporate partners such as Cool Ray Heating and Air, Mr. Plumber Atlanta, USA Roofing and Windows, Sherwin Williams, Arrow Exterminators and Georgia Pressure and Steam to make the money you donate to us will go as far as possible for our elderly neighbors.
Companies like Nortel Networks, Christian youth groups from across the USA, and many of our neighbors in the communities of East Lake, Kirkwood and Edgewood support our program with hands-on action, fundraising for individual projects and/or direct donations. We are also very fortunate to be closely associated with the East Lake Community Foundation and the Atlanta Youth Project.
This non-profit website is the place where you can help. We need to establish an independent way to fund theses efforts and a reliable emergency fund. All of the money you give here will be placed in an account managed and administered by Neighbor In Need, a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. You can see your money at work by visiting our online photo album that shows our volunteers hard at work repairing the home of a Neighbor In Need.
Our goal is to continue to do this: triple the buying power of every dollar we receive from you through our association with right-thinking corporate partners and “sweat equity” invested by our volunteers.
